Avenue Q - Cardiff
I went to see a musical. AND IT WAS AWESOME.
The seats were terrible, ridiculously uncomfortable, and I had to sit in such a way that I didn’t accidentally start to massage the woman in front with my knees,. But fuck, it was hilarious. I wasn’t sure what to expect on account of the fact that I’ve been to maybe one musical, but it was so, so well performed by pretty much everyone, especially Katherine Moraz (whose voice is outstanding) as Katy Monster/Lucy the Slut, that you can’t help but just laugh the entire way through. So I did, probably more than I have at any recent comedy movie I’ve seen at the cinema or at home.
Would definitely recommend checking it out, though while the humour was right up my alley I can’t imagine it’s the same for everyone. In summary, lots of cursing, a sprinkle of puppet sex and an absolute fuckton of pretty damn risky humour pulled off pretty damn well, and I’d definitely go again.
